Putting a temporary pause on running our crafty parties once again was a really difficult decision when the new rule of six came in across most of the UK. With the groups that were booked in with us being so accommodating, our main aim is to ensure our Crafty Hens still get to celebrate together and enjoy a creative experience, despite all the odds….
Over the last few months our DIY Face Mask Kits have been flying out the door, and so far we are delighted to have raised hundred and hundreds of pounds of Mind, a mental health charity helping the pubic and also key workers that are struggling at during this strange and daunting period. And it’s been wonderful seeing so many of you showing off your handmade face masks online.
As we all adapt to the ‘new normal’ it’s been lovely seeing our Crafty Hens getting stuck into the virtual experience side of things. Bookings for our online craft workshops have been keeping us busy as groups who have had their original hen do plans go array due to lock down make alternative plans to celebrate, or businesses with teams all working remotely from home look for new ways to enjoy team building activties virtually.
Staying home is giving us all the opportunity to be more creative over these last few weeks. We’ve really noticed a trend for purchases of our crafty kits being sent as gifts to friends and family who we aren’t able to see during this period. Creativity is keeping us connected is more ways than one, whilst also giving us the excuse to stay away from our screens and appreciate those around us more than ever.
This is a tricky time, full of uncertainty about what the new normal will be. For now, all we can do is continue to be kind, and do our very best to be safe. With that in mind, we wanted to do our part to help. So we’ve put together a unique crafty kit, to empower as many people as possible to learn how to create reusable face masks to help keep themselves, and those around them safe.
